Our Children Deserve the Truth

I have been reading The “Left Behind” Series again, and watching the movies made from them.  It got
me thinking of the fear I have for the children in this world.  Not the little children that are below the age
of accountability in God’s eyes, though we don’t know exactly what that is, I worry about the ones that
are accountable for their actions in the eyes of God.
Firstly, I worry that they are learning things way too young now, about sex, and violence, about all the
evil in this world and possibly through that knowledge reaching the age of accountability younger.  Their
minds are under attack from the evilness in this world through movies, TV shows, video games, the
news, and now even in schools.
Secondly I worry that with all of the evil they are being touched by in all its forms, it is not being
balanced by access to God’s word and the knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.  So, how are they to arm themselves against the evil?
For so long the schools have not allowed prayer, nor any mention or sign of God or Jesus in the
schools in Texas or anywhere throughout the country.  It wasn’t that way when we were kids, God was
not banned from the schools.  You could say a prayer when you wished, you could join the Boy Scouts
or Girl Scouts with pride for those organizations had yet to come under attack by the liberals for
following the ways of the Lord.  You could thank God for helping you through a test, helping you make
that score in a ball game, and saying the Pledge of Allegiance in the mornings to begin our day.  We
learned the full history of the United States including that our Founding Fathers based the Constitution
on the values found in the Bible, and about God’s influence of our history.  The liberals had not yet
reached the ability to make it wrong to speak of our Lord as though to do so were something wrong,
rather than the right thing it truly is.
As I saw it beginning to change to where it is now where valedictorians are not allowed to thank God
for His guidance and help in achieving all that they had, where football players were no longer allowed to
drop and thank God for making it across the goal line for that touchdown, where the Boy Scouts were
under attack for not allowing gays into an organization that is founded on teaching our children good,
solid moral values based on the word of God, I was concerned and I prayed for God to not continue to
allow this attack on our children’s morals and rights.  As I heard that the schools no longer say the
Pledge of Allegiance every morning as some children didn’t want to say “Under God”, my worry grew.
But the liberals didn’t stop there, they even changed what was taught of our history, stripping God from
his rightful place in our history and thereby leaving out much of the whys and wherefores of how we
became the greatest and strongest nation in the world, “One Nation under God”.  I prayed this
downward trend would stop, and that our legislature would step up and defend the right of our children
to know the real truth and learn that God brought us to where we are, not removing Him from every
aspect of their education.
Now I am even more concerned for the liberals have achieved such a strong hold within this state that
they no longer follow the laws and believe they will get away wit it.
The State of Texas legislature passed a law at the last session allowing God back into school.  It isn’t a
major alteration from the way it is now, but at least it allowed Christians and Jews to be treated the same
as the other kids.  Through this bill the Christian children would now have the same rights to meet on the
school grounds after school as do the secular groups, and there would even be elective classes allowed
teaching on the Bible and its place in our history.  When I heard of that bill being brought before our
legislature I was thrilled and when it was made law I was ecstatic.  Now, however, once again our children’
s rights are under attack by the liberals as they are not putting this law into play in our schools.
What possesses the school boards in this country to feel they can ignore the law and continue to restrict
our children from God at every turn?  What makes them think our children don’t have the same right to
have God in their day to day lives as we did, and they did, as children?  And what makes them think we
will sit back and allow them to ruin our children’s chance at having more access to the teachings of the
Bible and thereby giving them an even better chance at finding their way to Christ?  Why do they think
that their personal desire to destroy all traces of God in this country is going to be tolerated when finally
we have a law to back us up?  Your children should not be restricted from speaking of our Lord, and
learning about Him, to only at home or at church, especially not when there is a law that now specifically
allows otherwise.  We, as Christians must not allow further attacks on God and our children.  We must
stand up for both.  Now is the time to show the Lord and your children that you will fight for them when
the need arises, as it has now.
We must speak out and do what we can do to insure this law is followed by the schools in this state.  Our
children need all the exposure to the Bible they can get if we want to save their hearts, minds, and souls
from the attacks on them everyday by the liberal media which seems to promote all that is against God
and nothing that is of Him.
Write to your school board members, write to your Representatives, write to your Senators, and write to
the Governor calling for the schools to follow this law and get God back in the schools.  Your child’s life
depends on it.
