Congress Crossed The Line ..... Again! I think the US Congress has crossed the line, in a big way. They have now decided to go against the ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court, and against the desires of the American people, and are attempting to pass a bill that makes it legal to kill a baby up to the very instant that the baby’s head delivers. Yes, you read that right, certain members of Congress believe there is nothing wrong with killing a baby within moments of the time when it would naturally come into the world, healthy and more than simply viable. How could they do that when they know the baby is healthy? You think it must be due to the health of the mother being at stake, right? Not according to the American Medical Association who say that the Partial Birth Abortion is never medically necessary and often more dangerous to the mother than the birth would be. So, for what reason would they attempt to pass a law such as this? Presumably the large amount of money made by abortion clinics and the like in this country, which is more than $400 million a year, is their incentive. The question you need to ask here is whether your elected official, whether they are Senators or Representatives, are voting for Partial Birth Abortion to be legal because they think it is right for a doctor to be able to stick a sharp object up into an unborn babies skull to kill it before sucking it’s brains out enabling them to deliver a dead fetus rather than a live baby for reasons that the AMA say don’t exist or are they doing it because high-powered lobbyists have paid them to vote for this extreme and obscene procedure to be legal. In all honesty, that isn’t really the question you should be asking. Why they agree with what is tantamount to murder shouldn’t matter. What you should be asking yourself is; are you willing to vote for anyone who believes a baby’s life is so invaluable as to make a procedure like this legal. Myself, I can’t. I find that either those who would vote for this are bought and paid for and so cold it doesn’t matter what those with the cash want, or they are so cruel that murdering babies who could otherwise live a perfectly normal life is no big deal to them and don’t even need to be paid to vote that way. Either way that doesn’t say much for how they value the life of American citizens, regardless of their age. There’s also the fact that with these votes to make that atrocity legal they are voting against the desires of 72% of what American people have said, which is that it should be illegal. As for the Presidential Candidates who seek to hold the highest office in the land, there are two that are co-sponsors of the bill now in both the Senate and the House. They are Senator Hillary Clinton and Senator Barack Obama, who along with 18 other members of the Senate (all of them Democrats except for Lieberman, CT, and Sanders, VT, who are Independent) co-sponsored the bill known as Freedom of Choice Act. As for the House, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, along with around 100 others (all of them Democrats except for one, Christopher Shays, R-CT), co-sponsored this bill in the House. All you need to decide is if you can vote for someone who not only voted for this to be legal, but for someone who can sponsor something so horrible and gruesome becoming common and legal procedure. If you aren’t sure how you feel on the issue of Partial Birth Abortion think of how I described the procedure and though I was technically correct I wasn’t as graphic as I’ve heard it described, and then go look at a newborn baby. If you cringe inwardly at how anyone could do something like that to such a tiny, defenseless person, then you might want to think long and hard about who gets your vote in November as well as in the primaries. Unfortunately for the Democrats who are against this barbaric procedure, you don’t have a candidate who represents you, as Senator John Edwards voted against the Ban which this is meant to override. This isn’t legalizing Abortion; it is legalizing Partial Birth Abortions, which is simply calling it OK to murder a baby whose only crime is not being born. |
